October 16, 2008 - SGN LAUNCHES "MAFIA: RESPECT AND RETALIATION" GAME ON APPLE APP STORE
iPhone and iPod touch App Utilizes Advanced Location-Based Real-Time Gameplay and Multiplayer Competition
PALO ALTO, CA., Feb. 11, 2009 - SGN, a leading social gaming company, today announced that Mafia: Respect and Retaliation for iPhone and iPod touch is now available on the Apple App Store. With 'Sin City'-like 3D graphics and clever location-based gameplay, Mafia: R&R, the first of SGN's role playing games, allows players to complete "jobs" either in real-world locations or just on their iPhone and iPod touch.
"Gaming development for the iPhone platform continues to become increasingly sophisticated as graphics and gameplay continue to better engage game enthusiasts. We continue to apply everything we learn to new and more complex games while continuing to improve our current offerings for iPhone and iPod touch," said Shervin Pishevar, CEO of SGN. "SGN continues to push the boundaries of the social gaming experience through features such as the location-based play, respect point pricing structure and interactive shooting gallery we've introduced in Mafia: Respect and Retaliation."
Players immerse themselves into the mob world and work their way through the mob structure by completing jobs to earn money and challenging friends and other players online in their geographic area or from around the globe to fights. Place bounties and attack other players and pay respect to the 'Don' within a world that features a simulated hospital, bank, pawnshop and other mob establishments. Players try to earn respect in order to move rank with the ultimate goal of becoming the local 'Don' in whichever city they live. With the location feature turned on, the game sends players to local locations to complete a task in those real world areas. You play against other players in the area, put them in your mob and can eventually become the 'Don' of an entire city. Mafia players invite friends to play or compete against other game participants nearby. Players are given the option to play without their location turned on.
Mafia: Respect and Retaliation also includes a practice shooting gallery, which helps build skills and points, and unlike other offerings, this game can continue to be played offline when out of range of WiFi or a 3G network so players can continue to improve their character.
Mafia: Respect and Retaliation is available with a range of prices from $0.99 to $99.99 from Apple's App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore/.
